From its traditional design and armour piercing point, to the modern jaw breaking pommel, it reflects the stunning craftsmanship worthy of an emperor.

The handle is a traditional Japanese styled handle using Samegawa (shark or ray skin) with cross patterned silk cord.

The Imperial Tanto has a Damascus Steel Blade. A 1,000 were made in the mid 80’s, and they were serial numbered. Total length is 28.5CM. Blade length is 14.6CM. These knives are prized for their superb Damascus blade and the handle wrap design which emulates a Japanese Katana Sword.

The knife is stamped Imperial Tanto. GENUINE SAN MAI DAMASCUS. A masterfully forged Damascus blade, only Cold Steel could bring you,  with such mesmerising patterns. Each blade has been expertly hammer forged into one inseparable blade of  over 160 layers of stainless steel. The special ultra hard core produces a Damascus blade capable of passing the American Blade Smith Society's gruelling test. (Certified by A.B.S Master Smith, Dan Maragni.) MADE IN JAPAN.
