SOG Tomcat I Folding Knife
The SOG Tomcat I ranks among the largest and most rugged folding knives in the SOG lineup. Its 0.2" thick blade and solid locking mechanism give it the strength to handle hard use with ease. While heavier than the average folder, the Tomcat delivers unmatched durability and reliability.
As one of the first folding knives to feature a bowie-style blade, the Tomcat broke new ground in knife design, taking cues from the iconic S1 Bowie. Its innovative design earned SOG the prestigious Overall Knife of the Year award in 1988—one of the company’s earliest honours.
Collectors continue to prize the Tomcat for its clean lines and heavy-duty lock, key traits found in SOG’s earliest folders. SOG has kept the Tomcat in continuous production, and early models with the original engravings remain especially hard to find. Over time, SOG introduced several variants, including the limited-run Cocobolo-handled Tomcat, the Tomcat II, and the Tomcat 3.0.
