Gerber BMF Saw Back Survival Knife

Gerber Basic Multi Function (BMF) Saw back survival knife and accessories.

An incredibly sturdy fixed blade with a 5mm thick, high carbon Surgical Stainless Steel blade, measuring approximately 20cm (7.75") well balanced, retaining a very good edge. The handle has a shock absorbing DuPont Hypalon grip fully functional in all weathers.

The knife also features a solid steel pounding punch at the end of the handle grip, a saw back with deep well spaced teeth with no visible signs of use. The Silva compass and sharpening stones are in good condition with very light wear to the stone and the Silva compass shows little or no sign of use. The press stud fixings are perfect and firm with little sign of use. A good strong finger guard and thumb rest/protector separates the blade and handle grip and the pommel is a good size protecting the fingers when using the punch.

This full tang knife is perfectly capable of hacking through undergrowth and thick vegetation with ease and was the go-to survival knife of the 1980's for many Army personnel.

This knife is a collectors item, now discontinued by Gerber.
