The KA-BAR BK2 Campanion is one of the heaviest knives in the Ka-Bar range. The blade is 6.6 mm thick and made from 1095-carbon steel. This steel, however, is not corrosion-resistant. Fortunately the blade is enhanced with a black coating to make sure maintenance is a lot easier. Thanks to its thickness and the forgiving qualities of the 1095-steel this knife can handle anything: it is almost impossible to break it. In addition, the knife is easy to sharpen which is why this knife is so incredibly popular.
The comfortable handle is made from Zytel. A durable light-weight and strong type of plastic. Because of its size the BK2 can also be easily be used if you have large hands or when wearing gloves. The tang of the blade sticks out at the end of the handle and can be used as an improvised hammer or Glass Breaker.
