Alan Wood Full Tang Sheath Knife – 9cm Blade

The awsome reputation of the custom knife maker Alan Wood is second to none. He has been making knives professionally in the UK since 1985; his passion beginning at the age of 11 having seen the film about the legend Jim Bowie and the large knife he carried his 'Iron Mistress'.

Alan's designs are in great demand, as well as a custom knife maker. He has links with the Woodlore knife now taken as THE knife for actual Bushcraft use by Ray Mears. Ray wanted a British knife specifically designed for Bushcraft. Alan made a prototype and Ray fed back minor tweaks and the Woodlore knife was born. Ray and Alan’s Woodlore design is much copied all over the world now by both custom and mass production knife makers.

This is a very fine example of an early Alan Wood sheath knife, it has a full tang blade with liners and horn handle, the blade size is 9cm with an overall length of 23cm and a hand stitched leather belt sheath. The lanyard hole provides additional security when sheathed and in the hand.
